Layers upon layers. With this cream brick house, it was a process of introducing light + flow to an awkward layout. Whilst maintaining the charm of the original building, we used a series of small interventions to tweak spaces by lifting ceiling heights, introducing the warmth of timber battening to cabinetry to an otherwise white interior and creating nooks of interest. With 3 kids in their teenage years, we designed spaces that would allow the opportunity for family members to be alone in their pursuits but not disconnected from the hubbub of family conversation, mealtimes and general togetherness.
