This family of 4 wanted to extend their home to allow for their home to grow with their people. A previous back room addition to the building meant low ceilings and lack of natural light, so in collaboration with Pipkorn Kilpatrick , we're maintaining the classic façade of this Californian bungalow but welcoming a new chapter at the rear of the home. We designed towards a sense of expansion by way of purposefully moving from the cosy proportions of the front of the home towards a bright, lofty, light flooded rooms that celebrate the outdoors as much as in!
